February 2023

I love a rite of passage and marriage has to be one of the biggest. I don't think I had realised how much fun it would be preparing for our only daughter's wedding in May 23. From growing lavender for confetti, to choosing her wedding dress, to Tony making the invitations and sausage rolls, Jessy creating the flower displays, to everyone helping in so so many ways. One of the highlights of the year was what we called ‘The Harris Hen Do’.  Connie and I took the train from Redruth and met, my sister, her aunt, Caroline in Bristol to buy my wedding outfit, as mother of the bride, to seek out particular shades of makeup (my sister and I hadn’t realised it was so complex!) but really to feast, drink prosecco and laugh a lot.  Enormous fun! We should do it again! Always enjoy Bristol.

Train was gut squeezingly full on the way home. Thank goodness we had reserved seats ...
